March 7, 2011

This is a thank you note to everyone who came out (and to those who were turned away at the sold-out door– so many sorries!) to the Music Gallery on March 5th.

Maybe you had your tea leaves read, or maybe you saw Owen Pallett’s demo on How To Shave? Or perhaps you blissed through Jennifer Castle and Ryan Driver’s set?
If you have photos of the night that you would like to share, do! Our facebook page is a good spot for that.
We will post a short video-memory of the night here by Southern Souls’ Mitch Fillion sometime soon, so be on the look-see for that.
It was a dream, date, Toronto.

Book that inspired original Long Live cover art
2011 is being mighty kind in a friendly tornado sort of way– the kind that picks you up like a fun uncle and drops you down again on your favorite beach. I will play a news catch-up game over the next two weeks to be sure you are each on the goodship Snowblink when she sails, so check back often. First items:
1. LONG LIVE will be out worldwide on February 15th on Fire Records (Out of this Spark in Canada) on CD, LP, and Mp3. I included the photo that inspired the original artwork– a sort of soothsayer’s journal— there is new artwork for the 2011 pressings.
2. We will celebrate that release with two special Toronto shows March 3rd and 5th. More info about those forthcoming.
3. We will be joining Jeff Tweedy in the US and Canada for his solo tour at the end of March, followed by some more US and Canada dates with Timber Timbre for their new album (!) release tour.
See you soon.
